Araiya’s star attraction is undoubtedly the “Special Selection Thick-Cut Salted Tongue” (Tokusen Atsugiri Tan Shio)—a true showstopper in the yakiniku world. Its arrival often elicits audible “Ohhs” of admiration. These thick slices, sourced from the tenderest, highest-quality part of the tongue, are grilled to achieve a perfect balance: lightly charred outside, bursting with juice inside. The simple salt seasoning brilliantly enhances the beef’s natural flavor. This thick-cut tongue offers a unique, addictive texture—exceptionally tender yet satisfyingly chewy—that’s hard to find elsewhere.
